Rufty Tufty - English Traditional Folk Dance Band

Rufty Tufty is a versatile 3-piece barn dance band based in the heart of Warwickshire near Stratford-on-Avon. We play a variety of instruments, such as fiddle, mandolin, keyboard, recorder and guitar, in all of the different styles of music needed for a successful barn dance.

If you are thinking of having a barn dance, Rufty Tufty may be just who you need to play the music which will make your dance go with a swing. We have tunes from all of the British traditions, English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh, plus some from America and Europe, and even some we have written ourselves, so you are bound to hear some music you are familiar with, and probably some new tunes too.

The great thing about a barn dance is that everyone can have a chance to join in. Some dances might be full of high-energy moves which will suit the more energetic people but others might be graceful and gentle suiting those who prefer a more relaxed pace. Also, some dances may involve changing partners so everyone gets a chance to meet each other while others give couples a chance to dance together.

Dont worry about whether you know how to dance or not. The barn dance caller will tell you all you need to know and will make sure you and your guests have a great time.

We know some excellent callers and will book one for you if you require, but if you would prefer to book your own caller we are happy to work with them.

Most venues require the use of a PA system and we have our own fully-tested equipment and, of course, we are fully insured.

To find out how to run a successful barn dance see our Running a Barn Dance page.
